Thee Wedding Show at Murrayfield

Ilka Events staged their second wedding fair at Murrayfield this weekend, and an excellent turnout of soon-to-be-married couples kept Callum and I talking constantly for the two days of the show. Thanks to everyone who stopped by our display for a chat, and my apologies to those people we didn’t get to speak to – at times there were people three deep trying to get a look at the albums, it was quite a crush!

Opposite our stand was a new wedding venue- Broxmouth Park – a stunning 18th century mansion house set in 150 acres of grounds near Dunbar. The stand was run by owner Simon Flame, who lives at Broxmouth with his young family. Simon has big plans for the estate in the next few years and this is going to be a much sought-after venue for weddings of all sizes. Broxmouth is easily accessible being only 30 mins from the centre of Edinburgh, so if you’re looking for a stylish venue for your wedding Broxmouth is well worth a visit.

Louise & Peter’s wedding photos

Lou & Pete came up to the studio tonight to view their wedding photos from their recent wedding at Newbattle Abbey College and the Scottish Mining Museum, and judging by the reaction they loved them! Now they’ve had a chance to view the collection it’s your turn – click on ‘Online Gallery’ above and then click on the picture of Louise & Peter. You’ll need the password, which you can get from them. You can flick through the images (click on the thumbnail for a larger version) or for even bigger images use the slideshow function (make a cup of tea first, there’s loads of photos!). You can order any prints required direct from us on the site.

Thank You

I wouldn’t normally do this, but I was so touched by one of the Thank You messages I received recently that I wanted to share it. Wedding photography is all about creating and preserving memories that will last forever, I think it’s one of the most important aspects of the wedding day, but then I’m biased – so it’s great to know that our clients agree.

“Thank you for all your hard work and efforts that created both a superb wedding DVD and an amazing photograph album that will be treasured for the rest of our lives.

We couldn’t be more delighted with them both; they are absolutely perfect and have captured the wonderfulness of the day in its entirety.

The DVD and album are our lasting memory of our wedding now it’s all over, and what a fantastic way to remember how special it all was.

We cannot thank you enough”

It is wonderful to know that I have created something that will be treasured, this is why I always say I have the best job in the world!

Update ….

Not many weddings happening at the moment, but it’s just as well as there are so many other things going on here.

The first wedding fair of the season – at Guthrie Castle, where I am one of the preferred photographers – was last Sunday, and it was a hugely busy day. Lovely to meet everyone who came for a look at this stunning venue, especially the two people who booked me for their forthcoming weddings.

2010 dates are almost fully booked for me, and this weekend’s wedding fair at the Corn Exchange should see the calendar full – especially since we will have some special offers running for the duration of the show. The show is open Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 5pm, so please come and see us on stand 41.

We’ve got some exciting developments lined up for the next few weeks and months – new website, new branding, and best of all – a brand new studio!

Stay tuned ….
