Wedding Photography at Dalhousie Castle – Jane & Dan

Jane & Dan, accompanied by a large posse of friends and family, travelled from the south of England to Dalhousie Castle near Edinburgh for a traditional Scottish wedding – kilts, bagpipes, haggis and ceilidh dancing. After the ceremony the Dalhousie Falconry Centre put on a magnificent owl flying display which was great entertainment for everyone. Unfortunately the weather was traditionally Scottish as well, ranging from blazing sunshine to rain and wind, with everything in between, but it didn’t dampen the spirits of the sixty or so guests who danced the night away to the Bon Accord Ceilidh Band.

The weather didn’t stop us getting some great pictures, here is a slideshow of some of my favourites. The rest will be online soon once Jane & Dan get back from honeymoon. Please feel free to leave them a message using the comment function. You will also find the images on Facebook here, where you are welcome to tag the images.

Wedding Photography at Balbirnie House – Sarah & Moray

The first of two weddings this weekend, Sarah & Moray’s wedding at Balbirnie House Hotel. It’s always a pleasure to visit Balbirnie, which is probably Fife’s best wedding venue and has the added advantage of being just along the road from the studio. Sarah & Moray had planned a large but very personal wedding, and it was a lovely relaxed day finishing up in the evening with entertainment from the excellent Blaze In The Bothy (odd name, but a great band).

Here are some photos from the day, you’ll find more on Facebook here where you are welcome to tag the images.

The rest of the collection will be online soon, so please check back here for updates. In the meantime please feel free to use the comments function to leave a message for Sarah & Moray.

Wedding photography at Dalhousie Castle – Selina & Stephen

Selina & Stephen came all the way from the south of England to the magnificent Dalhousie Castle for an authentic “Scottish” wedding experience. They had the venue. They had the piper. They had the traditional Hand Fasting. They had everything for the perfect Scottish wedding except one thing – the weather, which was glorious (and decidedly un-Scottish). Quite how they managed it I have no idea, but the sunshine allowed everyone to enjoy the patio & grounds of Dalhousie Castle all afternoon.

The very personalised ceremony was carried out expertly by Duncan Robertson of the Humanist Society, with the rings being delivered in unique Dalhousie fashion by Bonnie the owl from Falconry Scotland, who are based in the grounds of the castle. As well as the resident piper Andrew music was provided throughout the day by the wonderfully talented harpist Margaret Knight who travelled from near Skye to play at the wedding.

All in all it was an excellent day, and I thoroughly enjoyed jostling (good naturedly) for position with the multitude of paparazzi snappers who were present! Here are some of my favourite images from the day. You can see more on Facebook by clicking here, where you are welcome to tag the images. The rest of the images will be online soon, in the meantime please feel free to leave a message for Selina & Stephen by using the comment function.

Wedding Photography at Balgeddie House Hotel – Clare & Andrew

What makes a great wedding? Is it the weather? The venue maybe? Great food, a good band? An amazing dress and a pair of killer heels? All of these things help, but weddings are about people, and it was the people who made Clare & Andrew’s wedding at Balgeddie House Hotel special (just as well, as the weather wasn’t quite as good). Honestly, you couldn’t find a nicer bunch of family & friends, led of course by Clare & Andrew themselves who are a really special couple. Clare is also drop-dead goregous, and although I teased Andrew about punching above his weight looks-wise I am reliably informed that he’s not a bad looking bloke himself!

Here are a few of my favourite photos from the day, you’ll find more on Facebook by clicking here where you are welcome to tag the images you like. The full collection will be online once Clare & Andrew return from their honeymoon, in the meantime please feel free to leave them a message using the comment function.

Wedding photography at Dalhousie Castle – Kirsty & Stuart

Decent weather, my favourite venue, great people – it must be Kirsty & Stuart’s wedding at Dalhousie Castle. The ceremony was conducted by the wonderful Juliette Wilson from the Humanist Society with her usual blend of passion and panache, and the rings were delivered mid-ceremony by one of the owls from the Falconry Centre at Dalhousie.

Here are a few of the photos from the day, there are loads more on Facebook so head over there and tag yourselves & your friends by clicking here. The rest will be online once Kirsty & Stuart have seen them, but first they are off for a well deserved honeymoon!
