Paula & Scott – Kilgraston & Solsgirth Wedding Photography Part 1

Spectacular. That’s the only word I can think of to describe Paula and Scott’s wedding at Kilgraston School and Solsgirth House. It’s rare to come across a wedding with such a fantastic atmosphere, maybe it was the Spanish influence (they are wild people – Viva!) but this was one of the most enjoyable weddings I have ever photographed. Right from the start Paula’s family made us feel welcome, and it’s days like these that remind me that I definitely have the best job in the world.

I started at Paula’s parents’ house in Kinross where, before I was allowed to do anything Paula’s mum insisted on feeding me some fabulous home made Spanish food – was it frittata? Spanish Omlette? There was an argument going on about it, and I never heard the conclusion, but whatever it was called it was delicious. Anyway … here’s a few images from the start of the day:

Paula’s bouquet – simple, elegant and very unusual

Paula & make-up artist Jen (of The Complete Look in Kinross)  peeking out as the cars arrived – Paula was dying to see the convertible Beetle which would take her to the wedding.

Almost done …. looking stunning already

Finally (only slightly behind schedule) Paula swept down the stairs where her Dad was waiting.

Talk about happy families … this lot never stopped smiling all day!

All dressed up & ready to go

The ceremony was held at Paula’s old school –  Kilgraston – near Perth, which sits in stunning grounds, before heading off to Solsgirth for the reception.

Paula & Scott – Kilgraston & Solsgirth Wedding Photography Part 3

After the ceremony at Kilgraston we all moved to Solsgirth House for the reception, where thankfully it wasn’t quite so windy. Solsgirth has always been a favourite location of mine as it is an absolutely beautiful house and ideal for weddings. An added attraction is the resident caterers – Be My Guest – who are probably the best in the business, certainly the meal served at Paula & Scott’s wedding (which Tracy and I also enjoyed) was as good as anything I have ever had.

After the meal everyone was invited outside, where Scott had arranged a surprise for Paula – a pipe band! The band, from Dollar Academy, appeared out of the darkness to cheers from the assembled guests and played superbly on the lawn at Soslgirth. After that it was party time!

Thanks to Paula & Scott for choosing us for your wedding, we had a great time. Hope you have a great honeymoon, can’t wait to see you when you get back and show you the photos.
