Annie & Stewart’s Wedderburn Castle Wedding

Saturday saw me heading to the magnificent Wedderburn Castle in the Borders for the wedding of Annie & Stewart. We were all worried by the recent weather & flooding, but it turned out to be a photographer’s dream job – fantastic venue, a stunning bride in a wonderful dress, hunky guys (apparently – my wife made me add this bit!), decent(ish) weather, good food, a great band (Life & Soul) and some of the friendliest people I’ve ever met. Weddings aren’t just about the happy couple of course, it was big day for Annie’s wonderful mum Hazel who, as well as supporting Annie, had the job of walking her daughter down the aisle to be married, and making the first speech of the evening. Hazel carried off all her duties perfectly and I know (because she told me) just how much it meant to her to be part of Annie & Stewart’s big day.

Stewart and Annie rounded off the day with a superb unique first dance, perfectly choreographed to a medley of music before Life & Soul took over for the party proper.

It was a huge pleasure to be part of such a special and emotionally charged wedding. All in all it was one of those days where I drive home smiling, in the knowledge that I have the best job in the world!

Here are some of my favourite images from the day:

Silja & Kristoffer’s wedding at Wedderburn Castle

Silja & Kristoffer, along with about 60 family and friends, travelled from their homes in Norway this week for their wedding at the magnificent Wedderburn Castle in the borders. Despite looming balck clouds the weather didn’t manage to spoil the day. With the marriage being entirely in Norwegian it was an unusual experience for me, but hugely enjoyable as the entire party were so friendly (and all spoke fantastic English too!)
