Lesley & Steve’s wedding

Friday’s wedding was a return visit to one of our regular venues – Airth Castle. In many ways Airth is the perfect wedding venue – a beautiful castle to get married in, well kept grounds for champagne and photos, and an excellent modern function suite. Plus the food is always good!

As usual we started with the bride’s final preparations and covered the whole day including the reception, it was a long day but Lesley and Steve had a fabulous time, and as you can see from the pictures the phrase “Happily Married” couldn’t be more appropriate!

Here are some of my favourite pictures from the day:

Sophia & William’s wedding in St Andrews

Sophia & William’s wedding at the magnificent St Salvator’s in St Andrews and the St Andrews Golf Hotel was notable for many reasons, not least the weather. With a sizable contingent of Sofia family over from America the old saying of “Scotland’s weather is all four seasons in one day” certainly came true – we had bright sunshine, heavy showers, thunder, and I even saw lightning at one point! Fortunately, due to an administrative error at the church, the ceremony started late but it meant that we managed to dodge the showers during the photos afterwards

Despite the setbacks Sophia & William had a wonderful wedding and a very emotional day for all concerned. Here are a few pictures from the day, check back in a week or

Sam & Stuart’s Wedding

I had been looking forward to this wedding for a while. Not just because because Sam & Stuart are a great couple but because they had chosen to get married at one of my favourite churches – St Andrews at Ravelston which, although in the centre of the city, is made entirely from wood – and to have their reception at the stunning Mansfield Traquair. What could be better? Well, the weather could have been, but you can’t have everything!

As usual we arrived at Sam’s parents’ house on the outskirts of Edinburgh in plenty of time, and with my usual assistant Callum away in India I was accompanied by my wife Anna, which made a nice change because she can do all the driving! With the girls still getting their hair & make-up done so it was time for a welcome cup of tea thoughtfully provided by Sam’s mum Allison, and some photos of the details.

Caroline and Andrew’s Wedding

Caroline & Andrew’s wedding on the Island of Seil (south west of Oban) couldn’t have been a bigger contrast to their normal life in Paris, where Andrew works as a journalist. His family live in Easdale, on the south of the island, and I can’t imagine a more beautiful setting for a wedding – the scenery is simply spectacular, especially when the weather is as good as this. The families made us very welcome all day, Even the 3.5 hour drive each way was a pleasure.
